Dr. Silbert is excited to offer a new and exciting computer treatment for Amblyopia, called RevitalVision.
What is Amblyopia?
Amblyopia is a condition where there is vision loss in an eye which cannot be immediately improved with glasses.
To treat Amblyopia Ophthalmologists often start with glasses, patching and, sometimes, eye drops; however, these treatments are dependent on the patient and the severity of the Amblyopia. At children get older, Amblyopia becomes more difficult to treat.
It is important to treat Amblyopia because vision loss in one eye can greatly affect a child’s future career, sometimes lead to a restricted drivers license, and, if anything should happen to their good eye, could leave them debilitated and legally blind.
How can it be treated?
When traditional treatments do not give us positive results (20/20 vision), RevitalVision becomes a useful and important option. This particular program is customized just for you from the company and can be downloaded to your computer for easy use. RevitalVision is the only FDA approved treatment for Amblyopia and has been proven effective in a number of clinical trials.
This program may be right for you if you are over 9 years old, your vision is between 20/30 and 20/100 in your amblyopic eye while wearing your glasses, and you have no or only a small amount of misalignment of your eyes. Our team at Conestoga Eye, or your local Ophthalmologist will be able to tell you if you fit theRevitalVision criteria.
The RevitalVision for Amblyopia costs $999 and can be purchased directly through our office. Once purchased, RevitalVision will email you a link to download the program and start your customized sessions. Each session takes about 40 minutes, 2-3 times per week, and you will begin to notice improvements as early as your tenth session. Learn more at revitalvision.com.
